The story behind the design

This case belongs to a series of nine dedicated to Goku's transformations. The same tight framing of the face, the same layout — only the form and its color change. Placed side by side, the nine tell forty years of the series.

The Super Saiyan 3 is recognizable by two things, and the illustration shows both: hair that reaches down to the waist, and the complete absence of eyebrows. This is the distinguishing feature that sets it apart from Super Saiyan 2 at a glance.

The golden background extends the hair and saturates the image. Along with Super Saiyan 2, this is the closest iteration to the image the general public has of the series.
