The story behind the design

Garp the Fist is the Marine Hero: the man who cornered Gol D. Roger, Luffy's grandfather, the one who always refused the rank of admiral to remain free with his fists. Kuzan, also known as Aokiji, is his most loyal student: trained by Garp himself, master of the ice fruit Hie Hie no Mi, he embodied "Lazy Justice" before leaving the Marines, disagreeing with what it was becoming. Two generations, two paths that eventually cross in one of the most heartbreaking confrontations of the final saga — when master and student face each other on Pirate Island. This design pays homage to them.
