The transformation fans invented before anyone else

This one didn't come from an animation studio. In May 1999, the Spanish magazine Hobby Consolas published in its 92nd issue a drawing signed by David Montiel Franco, made in the style of Akira Toriyama and captioned "Dragon Ball AF". The global fandom saw it as a Super Saiyan 5 and the image went viral. The author would later say that he hadn't even drawn Goku. Twenty-five years later, it has become one of the most recognizable figures in Dragon Ball folklore — and here is the statue.

The modeling fully embodies the idea. The white mane cascades down to the thighs in thick, wild strands; grey fur covers the torso, shoulders, and tail, sculpted hair by hair; the torn black gi hangs on only by the belt, and the gaze is that of a man who has nothing left to negotiate.

Around the legs, translucent red energy shards burst from the ground like blades, embedded in a rectangular base of shattered tiles. With its announced 36 cm and 1.9 kg, it's a display piece: it requires height and a dark background, where the white of the mane stands out.

It's a fan creation: the original image is a drawing by David Montiel Franco published in May 1999 in the Spanish magazine Hobby Consolas under the title "Dragon Ball AF". Is the tail sculpted?
Yes, in grey fur, continuous with the body. It passes behind the leg and goes up along the base.
