This 23 cm figure does not depict an action: adult Son Goku, in his orange gi and blue belt, stands beside a light stone stele engraved with two Japanese characters, holding a wreath of white flowers in his hand.
The base is a mound of rock and dry grass, sculpted with a gradient from beige to brown. The stele occupies the full height on the left, while the character stands on the right, his head slightly bowed. The composition is asymmetrical and calm, the opposite of everything else in the aisle.
It is a tribute piece, released in memory of the series' creator. It has its place in the display cabinet of a collector who knows the reference; it will appear enigmatic to those who do not. We present it for what it is, without using it as a sales pitch.
