The story behind the figure

Gaara was designed as a weapon and raised as a danger: a demon sealed within him at birth, a mother who died giving him life, and a father who sent assassins to test him. The kanji he carved into his own forehead means "love" — not the kind he receives, but the kind he swore he would no longer wait for.
