The story behind the lamp
Portgas D. Ace ate the Mera Mera no Mi, the Flame-Flame Fruit — the one that the lampshade of this lamp reproduces in its orange swirls. Son of Gol D. Roger raised by Garp, blood brother of Luffy and Sabo, commander of Whitebeard's second fleet: Ace spends his life wondering if he had the right to be born. The answer comes at Marineford, in his last words, and this scene remains one of the most painful in the manga. A night light in his image is fitting: Ace was never anything but a flame.
