This department brings together 307 canvas prints: 184 wall scrolls mounted on rods and 123 flat posters, ranging from €4.90 to €38.90. Two different items under the same word, and it is better to know which one you are buying.

Poster, print, wall scroll: what each word designates

The terminology is confusing, even for sellers. Here is what these words mean for us.

A poster — or a print, it is the same object — is a flat, rectangular print, delivered rolled and without fixings. You pin it, tape it, or frame it. Our sizes range from 13 × 18 cm to 55 × 80 cm.

A wall scroll (掛け軸) is a vertical scroll mounted between two wooden rods, with a hanging cord. It hooks onto a nail and can be unhooked in two seconds, without a frame. Our three sizes are 25 × 75, 30 × 90, and 40 × 120 cm — always in a 1:3 ratio, very vertical.

⚠️ The word "kakemono" also refers, in French advertising printing vocabulary, to a trade show roll-up banner. This is not what we sell. If you are looking for a banner for a booth, you are in the wrong place.

We also use the term tapestry or wall scroll for the same object: they are synonyms.

Why canvas rather than paper

Canvas is matte: it does not reflect light, and the image remains legible from an angle, which no poster under glass allows. It is also thicker, therefore more resistant to transport and hanging. And it can be pinned, taped, or framed as you wish.

The drawback: canvas does not render solid colors as perfectly smooth as photo paper. On an illustration with large blocks of color, the texture of the fabric can be seen up close. That is the price of a matte finish.

The departments named "Wall Scrolls" contain only rolls on rods; those named "Posters" contain only flat posters. The name describes the object.

Choosing your size

For posters: small sizes look great in a gallery — four or six aligned tell much more of a story than just one. Large ones stand alone, one per wall. In between, the 30 × 40 cm is the one chosen most often when in doubt.

For wall scrolls: the 25 × 75 cm fits on a door frame or next to a bookshelf; the 30 × 90 cm is the standard size, above a desk or a headboard; the 40 × 120 cm takes up a wall section all by itself.

What you will find in this department

One Piece wanted posters. The Navy issues a bounty for every pirate who becomes a nuisance, and these posters have become an object in their own right in the series: a portrait, a name, a figure in berries. Our department gathers 49 of them, from Chopper at 50 berries to Whitebeard at over five billion — and the gap alone tells the hierarchy of the world.

Dragon Ball illustrations. 74 items, the best-stocked series in the department. It is also the one that works best on a wall: hair standing up, an aura that lifts dust, the sky tearing apart — a visual grammar that is recognizable without having read a single frame.

Wall scrolls by license. Jujutsu Kaisen, Solo Leveling, Naruto, Demon Slayer, and Frieren, each with its own color scheme. Solo Leveling is the darkest — blacks, purples, deep blues. Frieren is the softest, in pastel tones.

Framing, or not

A canvas poster does not need a frame to stay up: the material is thick enough not to warp with a pin. The question is therefore aesthetic, not technical.

Without a frame, the image blends into the wall and the result is more raw, more like a bedroom poster. This works best for gallery compositions, where frames would end up creating more lines than images.

With a frame, the piece takes on the status of an object and is better suited to being alone on a wall. If you frame it, choose a frame without glass or with anti-reflective glass: putting shiny glass in front of a matte canvas negates exactly what you were looking for.

Hanging without drilling

This is the decisive advantage of the wall scroll: the cord is supplied and already tied. A nail, a thumb tack, or an adhesive hook are enough, and the fixture leaves only one point on the wall instead of the four of a frame.

The rods pull the canvas downward, so there is no warping or curling corners. For flat posters, reusable adhesive putty remains the cleanest solution on a painted wall.

Delivered unframed, and that's on purpose

No mats, no stretcher bars, no framing. This allows us to offer a large format at a reasonable price and let you choose your own framing. Nothing breaks during transport, and the budget goes into the image rather than the glass.

Frequently asked questions

Is the canvas stretched over a frame?
No. Posters are delivered rolled, without a frame. Wall scrolls are mounted between two wooden rods, which stretch them vertically without a frame.

How to maintain a canvas print?
A dry cloth, following the grain of the canvas. No water, no cleaning products. And keep out of direct sunlight: that is what makes inks fade, long before time does.

Can you roll up a wall scroll to store it?
Yes, by rolling it around the bottom rod, illustration facing inward. That is, in fact, how it travels.

Are the colors true to the screen?
Within a few shades. The matte canvas absorbs a little more than a backlit screen emits: blacks are deep, and very saturated colors lose a tiny bit of brightness.
