The story behind the design

This is the most structurally complex design in our One Piece range. It doesn't just place a character on a background: it features two layers. In the front, the paper—crumpled, layered, and faded. Behind it, the fire. And between the two, a tear that makes it look like the image was ripped open by hand.

The wall of posters isn't an abstract pattern: you can recognize the heads of several pirates from the story, stacked as if on a Marine notice board. The fact that the character emerges from behind this wall tells a story without a line of text—he isn't on the poster, he is underneath it.

The central strip is also what makes the case legible. Busy visuals can strain the eyes; here, the tear creates a horizontal reading line that catches the eye immediately, while the rest becomes texture.

Can you read the posters?
Partially. Some faces and specific mentions are recognizable up close, but the whole is treated as a texture: it is not meant to be deciphered.

What is the difference from your "wanted poster" case?
On the Ace and the wanted poster case, the character is full-length in front of a single poster, in full light. Here, the paper covers the entire surface and the character only appears within the tear. Two opposing treatments of the same object.
