The story behind the design

Almost all derivative visuals aim for the perfect pose: sharp framing, clean outlines, composed expression. This one does the exact opposite. The line is irregular, the color bleeds in places, and the expression is frankly excessive.

That is what makes it interesting. Sanji is a character whom Eiichiro Oda constantly distorts for comedic effect — stretched face, over-the-top reactions. A drawing that is too clean would betray that; a sketch respects it.

The white background, left almost bare with a few visible sketch lines, accentuates the sketchbook feel. It feels less like a piece of merchandise than a page torn from a sketchbook.
