Luffy in stage costume, two swords at his belt
Monkey D. Luffy strikes a pose at 18 cm, in a large red kimono scattered with white wheels and edged in green. A thick purple and white braided rope crosses his shoulders, and his face carries the red stage make-up of Japanese theater, brows knitted and mouth twisted.
Two gold-hilted swords are tucked into his wide white sash, tied with a green tassel. The hem of the kimono ends in gold fringes and he balances on straw sandals with red straps. The straw hat lies flat against his back; the two red rods with gold fittings running down to the base are his sword scabbards.
The whole thing rests on a lacquered black base ringed with brass. In our first photo, a carved wooden sign in Japanese characters stands beside him, like a theater billboard.
