The battered armor, the sword still raised
This version doesn't hide the blows it has taken. The Berserker Armor is dented, scratched, open in places to reveal a dark red, and that's precisely what the modeling highlights: twisted plates, torn rivets, worn edges. Guts is perched atop a gray rock column, the Dragonslayer held high above him with outstretched arm.
The composition is vertical and very airy: the black mane cascades down the rock, the sword spans the entire top of the frame, and the gaze follows the diagonal of the arm up to the blade. A piece that photographs well and requires headroom rather than depth.
