Kanao Tsuyuri was sold as a child and stopped making any decisions for herself: she would flip a coin and obey the result. Taken in by the Kocho sisters, she remained mute and compliant — until the day Tanjiro caught her coin in mid-air and told her to follow her heart. It is one of the most subtle yet decisive turning points in the series.

Shinobu Kocho's headquarters: both a hospital and a rehabilitation center for injured slayers. Kanao was taken in there as a child, incapable of deciding anything for herself — she made her choices by flipping a coin, until Tanjiro taught her to listen to her heart.
