The story behind the blade

Sanemi Shinazugawa is covered in scars, and each one tells a story of refusing to die. His violence is not gratuitous brutality: it is what remains of a man who killed his own demon-possessed mother to protect his siblings, and who pushed away the only survivor to spare him this life. His Marechi blood attracts demons like a magnet — he uses it as bait, by cutting himself. The Wind Hashira is the toughest in the series, especially on himself.

What color is Sanemi Shinazugawa's blade?
Sanemi Shinazugawa's Nichirin blade is light green, a hue associated with the Wind Breathing style he masters as a Hashira. Sanemi also possesses rare blood, known as Marechi, which intoxicates and attracts demons.

Is this katana replica sharp?
No. The blade is made of soft PU foam and is not sharpened: it bends under pressure instead of cutting. This makes it safe for use at conventions and photoshoots.

Is the display stand included?
No: the black wooden stand shown in the situational photos is only used to display the blade horizontally. It is not supplied. Our katana stands and displays are sold separately.

Does it come in a box?
No: shipped in a protective bag, without a publisher's box, over-packaged by us. Please expect a long package.

What is the recommended age?
We recommend it for ages 14 and up. The blade is foam and unsharpened, but the item is still bulky and intended for collection and cosplay rather than play.
