The Story Behind the Blade

Zenitsu spends half the series screaming that he's going to die. The other half, he's asleep — and that's when he becomes formidable. Incapable of learning more than one form, he pushed the first form of Thunder Breathing so far that it's all he needs: one step, just one, so fast that the eye can't follow it. Behind the coward hides a boy whom his grandfather picked up indebted and desperate, and who never stopped wanting to be worthy of that helping hand.

What does Zenitsu's blade look like?
Zenitsu Agatsuma's Nichirin blade is yellow and features a white lightning pattern running from the guard to the tip. This is the color of the Thunder Breathing style, which he is the only main character to practice.

Is this katana replica sharp?
No. The blade is made of soft PU foam and is not sharpened: it bends under pressure instead of cutting. This makes it safe to use at conventions and photo shoots without the risk of cutting a costume or hand.

Is the display stand included?
No: the black wooden stand visible in the situational photos is only used to show the blade horizontally. It is not supplied. Our katana stands and displays are sold separately.
